World War ll

Like many wars, the start of World War ll began with a bang - the bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. War officially broke out three days later that December of 1941, when Italy and Germany engaged the U.S. During this time, many of America's people stood up and joined military forces, while thousands of women stayed back holding the home for the family. Coincidentally, this entry into the war improved the U.S's economy - of which had just exited a depression. This war provided so many jobs for so many Americans, giving them the chance to pay back old debts and save new earnings. Although this effect of the war was a positive one, this was a strenuous war and difficult time for many people around the world - being that so many countries were involved.
